Job Summary

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.

  • Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.

  • Provide personal care to residents in nursing homes or assisted living or clients home environments.

  • Assist with mobility assistance, and transportation.

  • Support patients with meal preparation and cooking as needed.

  • Maintain cleanliness of patient areas and assist with light housekeeping duties.

  • Assist with medication management when required.

  • Assist with companionship and .

  • Assist individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs, including those with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

  • Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary.

  • Engage with patients or clients in meaningful ways to promote social interaction and emotional well-being.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a clients home, nursing home, or assisted living facility is preferred.

  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality is essential.

  • Experience working with people with disabilities, or developmental challenges is a plus.

  • Strong observational skills for effective patient monitoring and care assessment.

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist patients with mobility challenges safely.

  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
